Use of Kuriboh

Can you use kuriboh's effect during your own battle phase?

Lets say i had DDWL f/u att and my opponent had Jinzo, if i have my DDWL attack Jinzo i would normally lose life points so can I activate kuribohs effect at that time to make battle damage to me zero?

Please let me know!

Kuriboh's text clearly states it can only be activated during your opponents battle phase.

Discard this card from your hand to the Graveyard to make the damage inflicted to your Life Points by 1 opponent's monster 0. This effect must be activated during your opponent's Battle Phase.
