This post is about sumthin that jus hit me whilst I was playin ma game against yusuf.
Its a pleasure lady and gentleman to be able to say that ive met so many great people through this board and that BMG has brought together a decent group of people with a passion shared alike for this game by all its members.
As time goes on different people join and exit the game and drift apart form one another and indeed these forums become alive or quiet down on and off all the time. As for the people I kno that I have grown with as a person and a player of this game I owe u big time, most of my favourite memories are of laughs that ive had with u lot, arguments , jokes, ass whooping and more, I look back on them and smile greatly.
Meetin people like John and Bryan who were serious about their fantastic shop, the service which it provided me and many others towards this game, and all the laughs and Sunday evenings at the shop, the BMG regional trip, unforgettable laughs and generally meetin some of the best group of people ive had the privilage of meeting in my life time, young and old.
Some of the best chilled out days ive had were in the summer of 04 wen I was off skool woke up left to chill at the shop all day til it closed, duelin, annoyin bryan and john, makin tea, makin nu friends, nu opponents , and of course spending money!! As small as this is compared to what else can be happenin on this planet comfort of that shop was like no other, it has everythin that was need for a chilled out day, with a sani shop next door (THE PEPITO!!!) and the newsagents across the street..
I owe a lot to bryan and john they are no doubt in my mind the best pair of old gits ive met in life who arent in my family, from offerin me a job at the shop, to all the lifts to and from home, for generally makin me feel welcome in their personal/family space and of course bein competent at this random game of laughs that is Yu Gi Oh! I should have thanked u guys sooner, believe u me it’s a long time over due.
The people who Ive met on these boards are also deserving of praise, no matter what age, we have all learnt from each other, about the game, opinions and experiences. General friendliness has always been on these boards and although there have been disagreements, arguments, slating, spam, flames. Its provided comedy and laughs throughout and will most definetly never be forgotten by me.
I write these words because I cannot help but feel these boards are dying , I know that this is inevitable, however, I ask u to remember back wen these forums started, the flourish of spam and games, deck checks, personal preferences and opinions and laughs of course. Im not sayin we shud try and keep it alive, bcuz people do as they wish, but, even tho this community of BMG wasnt the biggest or best Yu gi oh players community it still was the best forums for havin a laugh, not taking this game too seriously (don’t worry I don’t speak for myself lol ) the bringing together of people from all over the country and even the EU to share their views on life and the game.
As strange as it is, this ’game’ has had more of purpose than just to entertain, if it continues to bring me in contact with as decent people as it already has for the past 2 years, I don’t think I’ll ever quit this game. And wether or not that is viewed as being pathetic in some peoples eyes, ive got friends that I can relate to for different things, experiences and laughs and that’s most important to me.
So John, Bryan, Ross, Scott, Matt, Keiran, Merl, Rach, n00dle, b00d, newel, yusuf, eddie, tim (and should i have forgotten anyone else at this hour i'm sure u kno who u are) thanx for bein there for duels, laughs, debates and friendship.
Should this site ever be deleted because of inactivity, I hope that u all remember wen the care-free approach to this game was home right here………… BMG style.
