I've never heard or seen this come up before. They should work on normal TVs, mind you I've never looked up LCD televisions, cause I don't have one. But, a high defination TV is only needed if you want to get the over 100% in the graphics department.

Well, to be honest if an Xbox 360 works on a normal TV then the PS3 should do the same job. Have to wait until E3 or nearer to November to find out more I suppose.

OK, if the ps3 is anything like the 360 it will come with a normal set of av leads (with a scart adaptor), it will also have an additional set of hd leads (connected to the av leads) for use on hd tv's, ignore the muppet in the shop, why would sony make people buy new tv's to play the ps3???, they could drive people to other manufacturers and drive away potential custom by forcing people into spending a grand or so on something they don't want or need. When you back to the shop tell the dude he's a gimp.

Hold up Matt. Where did you get that info from? Cause the official worldwide date has already been confirmed by Sony at GDC for November 2006.

if the date has been set add about 6 months and you will have the actual date, it always happens that way.

Not from the GDC report. Look on IGN, Gamespot and CVG etc. you'll see that Sony have confirmed simultoneous (However you spell it) worldwide release for Japan, North America and Europe which obliviously includes the UK. Another indication is that the PS3 is going to be region-free. Well, unless I hear otherwise from Sony reports or nearer its release about changes or whatever, I'll stick with my intuitions.

Region-free and Sony don't go together. But that was the DVD era. With the advent of BluRay dics, I guess they're approaching things differently.
Just be sure your TV supports both PAL and NTSC signals. A lot of TVs display NTSC signals in black and white.

That's easy to get around. Buy an NTSC to PAL Converter. LOL. That and the swap magic combo for PS2 allows to get around getting Kingdom Hearts 2 early since it's released in America now (Which I know Matt despises so much) Well anyway, it's definately been confirmed for PS3 after research into import gamers by Sony at GDC, so hopefully no more 6 month delays.
