Sheffield regional (29.10.05)

Hey all.

Well went to this regional hoping to to qualify so let's take a quick look.

Round 1

KOCW vs ...
Spellcaster Zombie vs Last turn

Well the 1st game was a draw due to last turn as he had spirit reaper out. The second game i won with big attacks. 3rd game he won with last turn so we had 4th game where it came down to time out. I used DM and something to hit big but since the last turn of he duel was his we waited. He couldn't force a draw or win since he set last turn that turn so i won

Spellcaster Zombie vs Choas

1st game was top decking and he had cyber dragon out which was annoying to say the least guess what happened I lost. 2nd game this situation was reversed so i won. 3rd game we were both top decking and i top decked mystic lv 2 allowing me to get in a few hits then he top decked cyber dragon the turn b4 i would of won. Close game

Spellcaster Zombie vs Dragon?

Very striaght forward round since this kid was fair inexperienced. He did some good moves and got away with it in game 2 as i had bad hand. However i won the match.

Round 4

Spellcaster Zombie vs Warrior

Can't rember which game it was but at 1 point he had 2 Mcaptains , obnxious celtic guard and command night out. i had no way round that till i drew dark hole and then won. In the winning game for me i used TER for a while which stopped him as i kept killing his warriors and since warriors don't have flip effects as such fairly safe. Even stole is freed matchless with TER. i won the match

1st game was ok till he drew united we stand and playe din on mataza and i could kill it so i lost. 2nd game bit longer but still lost as i got stuck top decking like the 1st game

Spellcaster Zombie vs Gravekeppers

This was not my favourite deck to play. Problem it normally scrwed me however not this time. 1st game heavy storm took out his m/t importantly necrovally. using last will and pyramid tutrle got out another 2 mons being ddwl and vlord. since i had lily out it wasn't long b4 he lost. i heavy storm again and get a few attacks. he draws set 1f/d m/t which when i attacked with skilled DM he goes magicians circle. well he forgot about my lily so summoned that and that was it game.

So overall score 5-2
Rank 25th out of 120

Pros
+ Break from uni
+ doing so well for a change
+ Cing ant from uni
+ cing an old school mate from year 7-9 at school in wyork
+ not buying a booster.

Cons
- Shame i lost so early in the tournament went against me
- only a TP6 prize
- warm room
- ant coming higher than me again(12th) sod

I couldn't believe I was so close to getting into the top 8 knockout. It was so painful to be 4 places and 1 match short when I know I could of got there. Oh well, you know what they say 'Never give up.'
