Close Encounters 17/07/05

[KOCW]

Hi all.

Another tournament another report for you to read so here i go.

Round 1

KOCW vs Sonic 23
Spellcasters vs Random dodgy deck

Game 1

KOCW : 8000 - 7550 - 5850 - 5050 - 4250 - 0
Sonic 23 : 8000 - 7550 - 7100 - 4700 - 4500 - 3700 - Win

Not the ebst start to the tourney but never the less tried hard. Sonic 23 is a BLS coward as he had to use BLs to actually win since i destroyed most other cards.

Game 2

KOCW : 8000 - 6400 - 4900 - 4100 - 3600 - Win
Sonic 23 : 8000 - 6100 - 4500 -3600 - 2600 -1800 - 200 - 0

I admit it was a gd game this one. We just kept making a move then the othe counter moves or changes the other strategy extremely. In the end we were top decking and i topdecked a Skilled Dark magician for the game.

Game 3

KOCW : 8000 - 6500 - Win
Sonic 23 : 8000 - 6500 - 5900 - 5100 - Timeout

This end in time out and for a strange reson ant decided to prem his exiled force to kill my mon rather than use phoneix since it was his only turn due to timeout rules. So i won anyway.

Round 2

KOCW vs Frank
Spellcasters vs Choas

Game 1

KOCW : 8000 - 7500 - 6700 - 4600 - 3100 - Win
Frank : 8000 - 7750 - 7450 - 5050 - 4550 - 350 - 0

Pure choas deck this with some intresting twists. I liked the fact time wizard was used in the deck. However i won this round with next to no problems

Game 2

KOCW : 8000 - 7600 - 6200 -4600 - 2800 - 600 - 0
Frank : 8000 - Win

This time started pitty bad as my only mon was kycoo and he creature swapped it so i got slapped by my own kycoo most the game.

Game 3

KOCW : 8000 - 7800 - 6400 - 5400 - 0
Frank : 8000 - 6400 - 5600 - Win

This game similar to GAme 2 but more of a fight however he finished the game with Jinzo and BLS on the field which is annoying when i had ROD and BTH ready. ( Had a friendly afterwards and thrashed him)

Round 3

KOCW vs Hendrick
Spellcaster vs LP gain/warriors

Game 1

KOCW : 8000 - 7500 - 6250 - 5450 - 3850 -3050
Hendrick : 8000 - 7000 - 4000 - 0

Fairly Stright forward this game. Ended with me brain controling his Bls and double attacking to win.

Game 2

KOCW : 8000 - 5600 - 4800 - 4300 - 4200- Win
Hendrick : 8000 - 8500 - 9000 - 9500 - 10,000 - 10,500 - 11,500 - 12,500 - 13,500 - 13,100 - 14,900 - 13,300 - 11,700 - 10,100 - 9300 - 8500 - 8300 - 6500 - 4000 - Deckout

This game took ages. Hendrick never really atacked me after 1st few turns and i removed most of his offencive strength being BLS and Phoneix. After that he sat there using to spell absortions to gain LP until i got more mons on field again and by the end i was using gd old DM to hit LP directly.

Round 4

KOCW vs Tom
Spellcaster vs Unknown

Game 1

KOCW : 8000 - 7200 - Win
Tom : 8000 - 7000 - 200 - 0

This game was long and drawn out beause I locked his field since he had Lily 3 goats and my breaker (creature swap) for most the match. So i sat drawing until i was ready to strike back. I Used tribes effcct twice since my hand was huge and used tribe, King dragun and DMOC to hit him hard.
Only LP i took was from premature burial.

Game 2

KOCW : 8000 - 6400 - 4500 - 2900 - 400 - 0
Tom : 8000 - 6500 - 4600

Very different as i started with hand of monsters and it didn't get any better so lost fairly quickly since he nobleman my monsters. magic cylinder killed me in the end

Game 3

KOCW : 8000 - 7000 - 6000 - 7000 - Win
Tom : 8000 - 7200 - 6200 - 5200 - 5100 - 6100 - Timeout

This game similar to last bt this time i had just snatched his Relfect that had mage giving 2000 more atk and def. Problem was to attack or not. by the end of the 3 turns im glad i didn't since if i had magic cylinder would of KOed me for sure.

Final result

Win 3 lost 1

Overall Finish position 2nd

Pros
+ Beat Sonic 23 in a match and tournament overall
+ Got ancient gear golem (ultimate) for 3 nightmare wheels
+ coming 2nd
+ Practice

Cons
- Phenix got removed by BTH or DDWL or DDa every time
- Low turnout ( 8 i think)
- Prize was only a booster where as 1st got 4?

Hey tim well done for coming second in c/e today it must of been the best u have ever done lol.
Ohh and btw its me jamie from ur tourny the who kept going up 2 ppl and saying "u getting rude".
I was only messing and ur tourny was fantastic btw highly recomend it to ppl.

Random dodgy deck? I'll kill you for that Tim!!! That is an insult on my honor. It is a control deck and plays just as good as your main spellcaster deck.

How about the X50 bus? Public transport is all the rage these days.

How was i supposed to know what it ws it didn't really control me since i won. Also Use the 50 to get there matt since it starts at kettering and ends u at bedford

Using the 50 bus. its easy enough for me there and back at the right times on sunday. i beleive theres an 8 round tourney happening o weds but ask some of the bedofrd lot on here they will know

the tourney i think is happening next wednesday it should b 8 rounds of solid dueling, that will test u on how much stamina u have hehe, but i say go 2 the 1 this friday u can get your bearings and so on and if u have 2 u can meet either myself or sum1 else who goes frequently at the bus station its simple though so dont worry, if u want help u can ask me i b more then glad 2.

yeah kool, thx, i wont be able to come on friday, as im working. i really need to know a few eeks in advance so i can get it off, being a manager i just cant say, i need this off. so its kinda hard.
