to be honest, its really gotta have a set theme, where each card helps. If you look at most the decks on this part of the board they are all geared towards one set area, wether it be water, archfiend, skill drain or (yuck yuck, horrible) Chaos.

aah mate, the amount of time cyber jar is a saviour though. Its such a good Jinzo killer, and is searchable by sangan

i did notice that, but then i see thatdoing that, although it makes it easier to get like a certain thing, it is also at the same time restricting. this is why mine doesnt have a set theme. if it was to have a them, the theme would have to be "themeless" cause the way i see it, these cards dont rely on the others. A wide variety means each card is playable with anything. i see other hands on here that utalise certain things, but usually are restricted to just that. where as this can mould to any situation.
like i said (if i was to re-acquire a magical thorn) i could have a number of combos that can be done by any of the cards. magical thorn joined with robbin'goblin means each time damage is done in battle, a card and 1000 additional points are taken off. the other cards are indipendant, most of which are strong enough to hold its own, most of which need no tribute, heavy defence with raregold armor means that they must attack that, or not at all... playing that, with final countdown give 10 turns to do something.
most of the set themes rely on certain cards, so they get stuffed with as many of them as they can. im not saying thy arent any good, im just saying that isnt my suited style. do you know what i mean? with this deck, i dont look at it and say "ok, need to pull this card" and that freedom i find better for me.
sangan, yes i do have one, but i hadnt concidered it, but thinking about that now, there are a number of cards in my deck that could bring out

fair enough i have no quabbles with all that, i have been considering doing a hand destruction/burn deck but magical thorns are hard to come by, roll on the dark beginnings 2 boosters i say.

i know, i probably soundlike i was just saying no im not changing... i didnt mean to, i just meant to show why i chose what i did... and if i dont see a reason to alter, then i will say... but you have brought up the cyber jar, and sangan, which i will incorperate into my deck when i can now as they do help my style of play
yeah, that was primarily what it was when i had my magical thorn, but now it is more of a hand destruction deck, that has timed defence (final countdown and strong DEF mons), and open attack.
EDIT- i have take out two cards that didnt fit and replaced them with sangan

i understand that, but they are just one shot spells right? why not have an equip spell card to bring up the ATK or DEF? (hehe, what happened? changed with the newer cards or just wasnt that good?)

yes, well mage power and united we stand are all well and good, but mirror wall is a suprise attack. Say you got don on the field attack his life points directly take a card, next go he summons a kycoo, attacks don, you flip mirror wall, he loses his monster, another card (as you will have attacked his life points) and a clear field for yet another attack. I would give it a go, good call Matt. With Mage Power, opponents are just gonna put cards face down = no attack on life points.
Man, I actually sound knowledged.
