Hi all,
Sorry to ask these questions as it makes me look stupid, but i had to deal with 2 debates tonight and I have been asked to put the questions up on the forum, print out the answers and take them to the club next week.
Question 1:
When you have more than 6 cards in your hand at the end of YOUR turn you must discard cards to the graveyard from your hand until your hand size totals 6.
True or False?
One lad tried to get his opp to discard when it wasnt his opp turn, and THEN said that in version 5 of the "official" yugioh rulebook it doesnt say that you have to discard cards at all.
Please clear this up for me so I can get the cheating aspect out of my club!!
Question 2:
Some of the lads at the club go to tournies on a sunday, in marston green or solihull area I think and one lad said to me that a level 2 judge had told him that you can NORMAL summon a monster in main phase one and NORMAL summon ANOTHER in main phase 2.
Now I know this is incorrect because if you normal summon a monster you cannot normal summon another during that turn. you can special summon monsters via call and prem etc yes.
Don't know who the judge was but if you could clear this up for me too as I had 24 kids arguing about this to me tonight.
The same judge also told the lad not to consult the "official" rulebook as it was not correct at all.
Your help would be most appreciated!!
Ade.

1. yep, only the turn players hand, so the oppo can have a million cards at the end and not discard
2. 2 normal summons loooooooooooooooooool!!! Imagine how bad that would be.WRONG, very very wrong.

Ade, by the fact that you admitted that posting the questions makes you look stupid shows me that you already knew the correct answers (and are not stupid)...
One piece of advice I was given is to be firm in your rulings, and if in doubt, ask the Head Judge. If you are the HJ, just make a ruling and stick to it. Don't let the players BS you.
A good friend of mine prints off all of the rules, card rulings and card erratas off the UDE site (a LOT of paper!) and puts them into books so they are usable at tournaments. I will try to persuade him to sell them because at least then you have text from the UDE site to show the players. Or, just take a copy of the rule book! At Trotters once, my opponent said that in the rule book it said he could choose if he goes 1st or 2nd (2nd game, he lost the 1st) after he has looked at his hand! I called a judge, and the player started referring to rulebooks like your player so the judge had to get the Head Judge. I have seen some players that would argue that black is white to get the better of a judge.
Just remember that you are the judge, and if they want the question posting on this site for an answer, make THEM do it so they can look stupid hehe!

yeah, especially if they are making it up and they know it. i always carry an up 2 date rulebook to prove pple wrong, but dont forget judges can b wrong. printing off the rules for ure own cards helps as well, if its a card that causes confusion especially
