Are the monsters tributed considered a cost? Notably, if the summon is negated, via Trap Hole et al., are the tributed monsters returned to the field?

No, as the tribute *sacrifice* MUST be made for the monsters to hit the field. E.g,
you have 2 face-up magician of faiths, you sak 2 for a dark magician of chaos, trap hole, the 2 monsters are already gone, then comes trap hole and hes dead.

That's the way I've always played it, but I just wanted to be absolutely sure.

Notably, if the summon is negated, via Trap Hole quote] just a little thing. Trap hole don't negate summons. Only ones i know that do that are Horn of heaven and solmen Judgement

Quite true, which is why they are the only trap cards usable against Jinzo.

Moisture Creature has me confused.
I thought for level 7 and above only 2 tributes were required. Has this changed?

its a choice two tribute is norml, three tribute destroys all spell/traps.

It's just I read somewhere level 9+ required three tribs. I'm hoping this is just wrong.
