Must the fusion monster be the same level or can it be less?

must be the same level, which is why almost all fusion decks you see have one of nearly every level.

I was thinking more 1000 eyes. Although given this information, it's going to be tougher to play it.
Is there a workaround to Magical Scientist - removing the fusion card at the end of the turn?
Hmmm ... Magical Scientist is a 1 star monster ...

thousand eyes is the easiest..... sinister serpent and MOF can get it on the field.

If I had a sinister serpent ... Never considered MOF before. Thanks.
Any comments on my other point Bood - a workaround to Magical Scientist - is there a combo that would allow the fusion to remain of the field.

If the Fusion Monster is flipped face-down with "Book of Moon", or removed from play with "Dimensionhole" or "Interdimensional Matter Transporter" or "Different Dimension Gate", the effect is reset and the Fusion Monster does not go back to the Fusion Deck, and is not prohibited from attacking your opponent's Life Points directly.
also SKill Drain will negate it too.

Interdimensional Matter Transporter is a good call. I'd often use this with Cyber Jar.
I wasn't aware that any other effect would be reset when removed from the field. Treating the effect as an equip spell effect makes perfect sense.
Incidentally, would Book of Moon work in conjunction with COTH as well? From what I've learned here I'm guessing yes - the result being COTH being discarded to the graveyard. Correct?

nothing can be equipped to a face down monster, so if you book of moon on COTH or Prem, the COTH dissappears.

Also, Thousand eyes can be bought out by scapegoat LOL AND Summoner of illusions is a good way, also, use Tsukyomi to reset its effect of dying 2.

To clarify:
I can use "Summoner of Illusions" or "Magical Scientist" etc. to special summon a fusion monster. If I then use the effect from Tsukuyomi to flip either of these monsters face-down, then the fusion monster is not destroyed at the end of the turn - a face-down monster can't have an active effect.
Correct?

I now run a meta deck, I use met and fusilier dragons for levels 7's (easiest thing to do), anything higher I use summoner of illusions and a scape goat for my tribute, also use cyber stein if you know you can get a one hit killl, MATT FELT THAT THE OTHER DAY, PWNED!!!!!!
