2. Additional Qualification Slots
For Regionals in 2006, the top 8 qualify for invitations to the
National Championship instead of the top 4. Regionals from 2005 are unaffected
and only the top 4 from those events qualfiy.
The Winner of the UK Pharaoh Tour finals also receives an invitation to
the UK National Championship. As the top 3 already had invites prior to
the event, this goes to 4th place finisher Simon Ho.
3. The European Championship
Instead of only the winner being invited to the World Championships in
Japan, the top 4 players from each European National Championship will
be invited to compete in the first YuGiOh TCG! European Championship to
be held in July. The top players from all over European will play for
one of four slots at the World Championship in August. More details to
come....
4. The National Championship
For the first time, National Championships across Europe will be spread
over two days. On Day 1 all invited players will play a set number of
rounds. A certain score/position will be required for the right to play
in Day 2.
On Day 2, several more rounds of swiss will follow before cutting to
the Top 8 players. These players will then playoff for the title of
National Champion 2006!
