thats why the judges at nats sit by each duelist when it cuts to top 8, each duelist has a judge next to them to authorise moves/ obv. with out interfering with stratergy and to make sure the game runs smoothly and under the policy of that tournament, this year the letters that were sent out to participants, were told that reflective gold and silver sleeves were banned for the tournament, most people were using the konami black sleeves with the yu gi oh! logo on the back, which could also be seen as markings, reason being why those types of sleeves may be frowned upon etc. maybe because, as someone has already said (i think) the player could some how change the sleeve to his/her own knowing to what card is coming next. the reason why ude wanted plain sleeves was because and changes to those plain sleeves would be easy to identify by judges but more importantly by the players.

plus we don't damage your nice patterns as the the black ones with yugioh on them tend to fade easily and metallic protectors breakdown easily
